Flats to let near the city centre
Manchester City Centre has it all but living just outside the inner ring road can be an excellent compromise if funds are tight. Sportcity is less than a mile away and Salford Quays has excellent links to Manchester City Centre via the Metrolink system. To the south, Didsbury is very popular. Picking somewhere near to transport links will save you lots of time getting to work or getting about.
Rental prices for apartments
For a one bedroom flat expect to pay between £550 - £850 per month. Small two bedroom apartments rent for around £700. Larger apartments or those in a prime location close to communication links, rent for upwards of £1000. Remember to budget for your deposit (normally one month's rent), credit checks, community charge (at least £1000 pa), electricity and water charges. Normal rental periods are for at least six months.
